Pet Fair

Headed to the Pet Fair at the Del Mar fairgrounds this past weekend with the Sibbets. Lots of animals to be seen-dogs, dogs and more dogs, a dog jumping contest into the pool, a zorse (yes, there is such a thing-momma a zebra, daddy a horse), goat, cow, llama.

Gondola Ride

Went on a double date with Shellie and Kevin.  Went on a gondola ride thru the Coronado Cays.  A beautiful evening with great friiends.  Took advantage of restaurant week and headed to one of our favorite restaurants...Peohe's.  Only $30 for an awesome 3 course meal.  Never can resist their coconut shrimp!

Dad's Day

Today was Dad's Day at school.  The daddies were invited to come to school for the first hour.  The girls were VERY excited to show Daddy around.  I went too-to fill in as Daddy-since both the girls go to the same school and the same time.  It was kinda fun being the only mom in the bunch, to really see what goes on when we mommas aren't around.

So for Christmas the Lurias got us an AWESOME gift!!!  They watched the girls while we went to an ultra posh resort in Palos Verdes-Terranea Resort-oh la la. Let me just say, it was AWESOME. We cruised around Manhattan Beach, the boardwalk, did a bit of shoppin, of course...great eating, walked around, watched the sunset, ate some MORE, slept in, went to the pool....ahhhhhh, it was awesome. Totally relaxing.

Annnnd, the girls had a BLAST with their cousins and auntie and uncle...went to the aquarium, the beach, and McDonalds!!!

Thanks Jenni and Gil for an AWESOME Christmas gift!!

Big Bear!

Had a great weekend in Big Bear with the Sibbets!!!  We rented a 3 bedroom house, about a mile from the slopes, with an outdoor hot tub and play area for all to play in.  Great fun for all-as we all had buddies to hang out with.  Our last trip with Dave and Sam was pre kids, when we went on a cruise to Europe. We travel well with them.  Now that we have kids, yes..some things have changed, but the jist is the same...lots of beer for the boys, lots of laughs, good stories and fun. The girls looooooved playing with Emma and Lily and had their very first sleepover-as the 4 of them shared 2 trundle beds (shockingly, they all fell asleep).

Bella and Caleigh got up on skis for the first time.  Both were SO excited with the equipment...the skis, the helmet, the glasses, the goggles and the snowsuits. Caleigh was not too thrilled with the ski boots.  She kept complaining that she couldn't walk.  Bella was totally onboard and ready to learn.  Caleigh was eager too, but not with quite the same spirit as her big sister.  We put them in a private lesson together-which helped get their feet wet with the basics and Bijan took turns takin each one up the ski lifts, while I waited at the base with the other kid. We made the mistake of thinking B could take them both down at the same time-and boy was that a mistake...crying, frustration...yup, we called it a day after that. Bijan skied alone for the rest of the afternoon while I took the girls home.  The next day he and Bella went out for a half day and B felt like she was really getting the groove. I am so proud of my girls.  So exciting.

A great weekend-with great friends and great memories.

Techies

Do I need to even post a comment?! And yes, real computers, real games.

Box Cars

Wearing jammies at Awana, Veggie Tales movie night!
At Awana (weekly youth group at church for the girls),this week was BoxCar night.  The girls were so excited to transform their boxes into cars!!  Our cars were defintely on the "home made" side...but the girls definelty had a huge part in making them.  They just love going to Awana and love to share their lessons about the Bible and God with us. Love it.

The Twins!

My dear dear friends Mia and Craig had their twins this week!  Mia is an identical twin, and she had identical twins....how special.  She'll really be in tune with "twin-ness"...their special bond that they will forever share.  Mia is a wonderful friend to me and a wonderful mother as well. I am so proud of all she has endured these past 9 months and know I will be in awe with all she WILL endure in all the months and years ahead!
awww...proud big sister

                                                           soooooooooooooooo cute!

We're having a baby!!!!!!!!

Yep, we're having a baby!  The littlest Bijan is due to arrive July 11th.  I am now 14 weesk pregnant.  Bijan and I have been contimplating a third for a while now.  About a year ago I went off the pill, thinkin I was ready...and after a couple months, freaked out and realized I wasn't ready.  As my biological clock has been ticking, we got to talking and thinking....and I realized, ok, I AM ready.  I thought about it, prayed about it, talked about it and I knew.  We thought we'd roll the dice again and see whats in store for us.  After a few months of trying...here we are!  The girls are thrilled and soooo excited to have a baby!  I feel so happy, so totally grateful.  Sure I have my moments of freak out...WHAT are we thinking?  Are we ready for this?  Why rock the boat of the routine we've got?   What are we thinking? That we are a pretty damn fantastic family...why WOULDN"T we have another if we could?  Are we ready for this?  Ready enough.  Are you every reallllly ready?  Why rock the boat?  The more the merrier.  The more love to have in our family. The more chaos in our life!  Its all good.  No...actually, its all GREAT.

Lets do this!!  Bring it on! :)

Christmas

I'll admit...Christmas was different this year.  Time to create new tradtions. We do our own little Christmas on Chrismas Eve morning...then spend Christmas Eve with Bijan's family at Eva's.  Eva puts on a tradition German dinner-of specialty German cold cuts and sets out all of her beautiful German decorations.  It was great to spend time with she and Stan, and the McGibbons too. We went to church, a great serman and GREAT music....

Headed to mom's for Christmas morning. Santa comes to Nana's house.  Great to be with the Lurias, Kevin, Kayla and lil baby Acacia.  Lots of noise, activity, and fun.  Spent the next day with dad at the beach house.  And following that, we went to Paradise Point down here in San Diego-with Mom, Kevin, Jenni and families...

We did a lot with our family over the holiday.  Good quality time and conversations.  Of course, the girls had a blast with their cousins and their aunties and uncles.  Even though this Christmas was a little sad, it also made me feel super grateful and aware of God's presence in my life and all the wonderful people in my life.
