Heartstrings

Tough day on my heartstrings today. I came home from the hospital...without Shane. I was sooo excited to come home, and be with the girls, but at the same time, soooo sad to leave my little baby behind. Torture.

I know he is in a safe place, recieving the best possible care...but its still just so hard.

On the bright side, I am looking forward to a speedy recovery, more rest, more and more preparation for when Shane does come home.

I love my family!  xooxoxo

Shane Donovan Bijan

Baby Shane is here! He arrived Friday, May 27, 6:10pm, 18 inches long. We were trying to hold out for 24 weeks- which would've been Tuesday, but I was having more contractions, faster and stronger. The doctor decided it was Showtime at 5:30 pm and he was born at 6:10.

He was crying when he was born, and looked really pink. I got to hold him only for a few minutes before talking him to the nicu.

It's a good thing the dr took him when she did as she said my uterus was so thin that she could see his hair through it. She also asked several times if I was sure about the tubaligation... And after the surgery she said it was good I elected to do so as my uterus was so thin that a 4th pregnancy could be fatal (no...we definetly were not contemplating a 4 th)

The hardest part of all this is not being able to be with my baby... He is just down the hall- but I can't really get to him yet as I am still hooked up to an iv and catheter- not too mobile. It just pulls on my heartstrings to not use this quiet time in the hospital to be with him.

The good news- he is under constant care, they'll get Shane on a schedule, and I'll be able to focus on my recovery so I can be in good form when he does come home.

Water broke!!

Yesterday I had a dr appt... Lost my mucus plug ( i thought my water broke) Wasn't really too worried about anything as the same think happened with Bella nearly a month before her birth.

My mom insisted on coming down. I told her she didn't need to, but she insisted.

1am last night, woke up to use the bathroom, and knew... My water DID break! Called the dr and they said to come on down to the hospital.

I am 33 weeks- but the baby has been measuring big. No matter what the baby will go to nicu- as he is less than 34 weeks. We are meeting with a perionatologist shortly to figure out more of a game plan.

My nerves come and go... At one moment I feel relatively calm and the next I totally panic- wondering if the baby is ok.

I feel so grateful that my mom trusted her mothers intuition- it brings Menderes relief to know the girls are well taken care of.

Better get comfy at this hospital as I am not leaving til I have this little boy!

33 weeks!

Uuuuuh

So this belly is really getting in the way when I have to bend over. I have had four people already today tell me how big my belly is. I politely smile and probably have a confused look on my face as I am not entirely
sure how to take it. Are you calling me a fat ass in pregnant code? :)

Im now 32 weeks. Time has flown by!

Gotta say this toy has come in very handy for picking crap up! :)

Another birthday

37... That sounds old. Guess it's all down hill from here... :) but really, how are exciting are birthdays once you turn 21!? Do I have FORTY to look forward to!? :)

In all seriousness, life is pretty great at 37. Each day that passes I feel so completely grateful for my health, my family and their health, my wonderful friends, my home...

Age is just a number. So I'd like to pick 31 this year.

Sea World fun

We got to go to Sea World not once, but twice in the last few weeks with the Luria gang. We had the coolest experience with the killerwhales... A trainer, doing tricks with the whales, right next to us. Up close and soooo cool. The dolphin show was a favorite and the play area. The best part was hanging out with Auntie Jenni and our cousins.

Snuggles

The girls were all cozied up,watchin tv... Sitting this close. So cute.

C-a-l-e-i-g-h

Yeah! Caleigh can write her name- all the letters, in the right order, in a line. Go Cal!!!

Project Nursery: COMPLETE

Love the way the baby's room turned out. Our "inspiration" was 2 things...a Waikiki poster and a Hawaiian shirt. The blue wall with flowers is supposed to look like the pattern of a Hawaiian shirt. I made a pattern on cardboard, cut it out, traced it and painted it out... A very tedious job- but I am so happy with the end result. When we were in Hawaii, I got the big kahuna sign and some vintage post cards that I framed.

Happy with the cost of the room:
Crib- "free"- Caleighs old one
Bed- "free"-Caleighs old one
Bedspread- " free"- was in guest room
Big Kahuna sign-$20
Crib bumper/sheets-$30 craigslist
Changing table- $140 overstock
Chair- gift from Nana
Postcards-5 for $1
Rafia- $75 from etsy
Lamp-$40 eBay
Paint/supplies- $60
Pooka shells- $10 in Hawaii
Valance-$20 eBay

Mothers day sing

Went to school with the girls for mothers day sing. Soooo cute. We all sat in a big circle on the rug, led by their music teacher, Miss Monica- and watched an adorable slide show of the children. I was trying my best not to really listen to the words to the songs as the were definitely heartfelt...

I love those girls more than words can express.

Happy Mothers Day

Headed to the beach house in SAn Clemente for Mother's Day weekend. Has a great time. Took a nice long walk along the boardwalk to the pier, went to town for dinner, played at the beach, made s'mores, went to Zoomars, cruised around Dana Point Harbor, had Starbucks and breakfast in bed... A great weekend.

Mothers day is also a special tribute to my wonderful children, who make being a mom so great. They have taught me so much... About the true meaning of love, giving, compassion, patience, fun, gratitude, selflessness and so much more.

Thank you Bella and Caleigh... For teaching me how to be a mommy- it's the best job in the world!
